Welcome to The Foundation

I wrote Dismantling Religion because truth does not need protection from questions. You do not have to agree with the claims in this forum. You do need to test them. Each discussion takes one inherited Christian assumption, puts Scripture, history, language, and lived experience on the table, and asks what follows if the evidence points somewhere unexpected.

Read critically. Bring counterevidence. Tell us where the argument holds—and where it does not.

Jesus said not one part of the Law would pass away ‘until heaven and earth pass away.’ Most Christians insist the Mosaic covenant has ended while also placing heaven and earth’s passing in our future. Both positions cannot remain untouched. Revelation later says the first heaven and earth did pass away. If that transition has occurred, Jesus’ ‘until’ has been fulfilled: the Law completed its purpose, and the Spirit replaced external covenant control with God’s guidance written within. This is not contempt for the Law. It is taking Jesus’ timeline seriously and honoring the greater covenant toward which the Law was always moving. The question is not whether the Law mattered, but whether we are refusing to let it finish.

Before we walk through it: Name the assumption you brought with you. Then test whether the evidence lets you keep it.

The Argument

  • Jesus said the Law would not pass 'until heaven and earth pass away' (Matt 5:18); Revelation 21:1 records that moment ('the first heaven and the first earth passed away'), and the cataclysm of 1100...
  • For Gentiles, immediate access opened after Christ's return (66-70 AD); for Jews, God allowed the old covenant economy (Abraham's Bosom, the Book of Life paradigm) to linger for the full thousand y...
  • Paul's statements that believers are 'not under law but under grace' (Rom 6:14) and that 'Christ is the end of the law' (Rom 10:4) were not heresy but understanding that the Law was already giving ...

Over to You

How can the Mosaic Law be ended if Jesus’ stated condition has not occurred—and what do you believe ‘heaven and earth’ means in Matthew 5?
