Welcome to The Foundation

I wrote Dismantling Religion because truth does not need protection from questions. You do not have to agree with the claims in this forum. You do need to test them. Each discussion takes one inherited Christian assumption, puts Scripture, history, language, and lived experience on the table, and asks what follows if the evidence points somewhere unexpected.

Read critically. Bring counterevidence. Tell us where the argument holds—and where it does not.

Start with the date: 96 AD plus exactly one thousand years lands on 1096—the beginning of the First Crusade. Revelation says that when the thousand years end, Satan is released, deceives the nations, and gathers them around ‘the beloved city.’ In 1096, multinational armies began moving toward Jerusalem under religious deception, slaughtering in Christ’s name while believing God had authorized it. The timing, target, multinational character, northern route, and moral corruption align with Revelation 20 and Ezekiel 38–39. Date arithmetic alone proves nothing. But when the rest of the pattern lands on the same year, coincidence becomes the explanation carrying the heavier burden.

Before we walk through it: Name the assumption you brought with you. Then test whether the evidence lets you keep it.

The Argument

  • Counting exactly 1,000 years from 96 AD lands on 1096 AD — the First Crusade — a war of nations surrounding Jerusalem. 'The beloved city' in Revelation 20:9 refers to Jerusalem (confirmed by Sirach...
  • The nature of the Crusades matches Satan 'deceiving the nations': religious deception, mass slaughter of Jews and Muslims (Rhineland massacres, cannibalism at Ma'arrat, 20,000-70,000 killed at Jeru...
  • The parallels between the first-century era of Satan's activity (0-96 AD: Herod's slaughter, persecution, Jerusalem's destruction) and the Crusades era (1096-1300 AD: ethnic cleansing, religious vi...

Key Scriptures

  • Revelation 20:7-9

Over to You

Which correspondence between Revelation, Ezekiel, and the First Crusade is decisive—and which one do you think is being forced?
